Ventilation in a group of courtyard buildings

In the contemporary urban planning, outdoor comfort is more and relevant. As a matter of fact, in some Nations microclimate design, so, among others, quantification already compulsory, while many others it recommended. Various methods to quantify can be adopted (e.g., PMV-Predicted Mean Vote, or PET-Physiological Equivalent Temperature), but every formulation wind velocity, otherwise referred as ventilation, close buildings under study needed. this paper, ventilation inside outside group courtyard studied via numerical simulations with ENVI-met. ENVI-met three-dimensional model able simulate an environment interaction air flows surfaces different materials, plants other typical elements built given climate. Results highlight relevance mutual influence their dimensions modelling courtyard.
